As an Applications Engineer you are the first point of contact for all technical enquiries to the company. A high degree of technical knowledge - specific to both the industry and our products - is therefore crucial. In addition to technically supporting global customers and sales personnel, the applications function handles a continuous flow of order-driven projects requiring all aspects of design engineering and coordination of technical activities. You will undertake product development, comprising associated draughting, document generation, as well as any necessary prototype building and testing. All work will involve following our company QA/QC programme of continual improvement. You will be expected to plan, schedule and coordinate the engineering work - in many cases handing multiple projects simultaneously - while also effectively communicating and coordinating between all departments involved in the project. Your technical knowledge will enable you to have sufficient awareness of details to recognise when technical problems are becoming apparent and be able to initiate corrective actions. You will report directly to the department manager, who has ultimate responsibility for the quality and effective completion of project objectives. Act as single focal point for customer distributing information from other departments, and delegating customer requests to the relevant departments ? Provide external support to customers in relation to products and services ? Provide external support to Sales Team in relation to products and services ? Provide Applications Engineering to quotations for both Customer and the Sales Team ? Provide Schematics for quotations for both Customer and the Sales Team ? Conduct cost and margin analysis on quoted equipment ? Liaise with production to ensure that we can meet customer delivery requirement ? Acknowledge receipt of PO from Customer ? Create Contract Review from PO, and release onto the Job Number Database ? Acknowledge Acceptance of PO to customer once all details are finalised ? Update customer with Progress of order Essential Skills and Experience; Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with customers. Self-motivated and pro-active - willingness to learn highly technical product and manufacturing techniques. Thorough knowledge of company products and services.     The CAD Checker/BOM Analyst will work independently and with other engineering team members to check and create drawings, models, LOC (list of components), BOM (bill of materials) and other engineering documents. He/She will work within NX CAD system to review and/or created designs, this will include complex assemblies. He/She inspects solid models and drafts for new components and modification to existing parts to ensure that the company best practices and standards are followed. He/she will participate in the development and improvement of best practices and standards as they relate to the manufacturing and design process. Work directly with BOM department to assist in BOM creation within our ERP system and releasing manufacturing packages.

The work will be based in Leicester, however, time will also be spent at other offices and those of the customer.

    - Assessment of client requirements, ensuring that output meets those requirements and demonstrating that designs are cost effective, and safe to install, operate and maintain.

    - Ensure all design activity is conducted in accordance with Company Procedures.

    - Planning and monitoring of design progress to ensure completion to time and budget.

    - Preparation or checking of conceptual scheme and detail designs in accordance with BS8888, supporting calculations, technical specifications and reports.

    - Presentation of design to customers and managing design iteration and coordination.

    - Assist the sales function in the generation of tender responses and technical proposals.
