The ideal candidate will have an appropriate engineering or science degree and 2-4 years of downhole tool design and development experience.     We have an urgent requirement for a Senior 3D CAD Designer to work within the multi-disciplinary engineering team that supports our client's Infrastructure Government and Power Group based within the company offices in Leatherhead for approximately 3 month assignment.

    This position is within the multi-disciplinary engineering team that supports company's Infrastructure Government and Power Group. Reporting to the Discipline Lead Engineer, you will provide CAD support for a variety of ongoing contracts and bid preparation for UK and international projects. As part of the Technical Team you will be expected to have a positive and flexible approach to all projects and to show autonomy in decisions.

    - Provide general civil and structural CAD support to the IGP Design & Technical Team as required.

    - Devise initial concepts, prepare concept designs, and develop detailed design drawings.

    - Revise and update previous design drawings as necessary.

    - Manage and maintain file standards and document registers in accordance with company standards.

    - Prepare and provide technical project drawings and/or documents to be sent to other parties in both electronic and paper formats.

    - Review and report on internal and third party design submissions where appropriate.

    - Provide technical guidance and advice to other elements of the Design & Technical Team, Procurement Team, Project Management Team and Clients as required.

    Skills & Experience

    - Significant relevant employment experience using AutoCAD.

    - Extensive experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing relating to buildings.

    - Comprehensive understanding of drawing structure, the use of models and external references.

    - Extensive experience in the processing and drafting of technical information, including the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.

    - Experience in 3D modelling with AutoCAD Architecture.

    - Sound understanding of engineering principles and good practices.

    - The ability to provide engineering support beyond CAD, such as preparation of specifications, reports and schedules, would be an advantage.

    - Experience in preparation of CAD services across a wide range of engineering disciplines, including Building Services and Architecture.

    - Proven ability to deliver quality output to agreed deadlines.

    - Proficiency in a range of software applications, especially the ability to use graphics packages.

    - Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    - Ability to use initiative to work independently, as well as work within a team.

    This is a contract position.

    The rate for this position is negotiable.
