Key Requirements
The Applicant
• Candidate must have 15+ years of experience in oilfield drilling and well operations, including leadership experience.
• Good people and leadership skills, including communication and influencing, are required.
• The ideal candidate will be a self starter that can anticipate problems and adjust accordingly to meet Company objectives.
• A good knowledge of land drilling rig equipment and operations for development, exploration and appraisal drilling and completion activities along with workover activities including ESP and rod pump installations.
• Experience managing busy, multi-rig operations with aggressive development targets is highly desirable.
• A successful track record of troubleshooting equipment and operational challenges.
• A thorough understanding of well planning including a good understanding of geological subject matter, reservoir engineering, completions design and offset well and log information, identification of drilling hazards and environmental requirements.
• Casing designs, cementing, bits, mud systems, directional drilling, DST’s, coring, etc.
• Safety and environmental knowledge
• Data collection and management of drilling operations
• A track record of mentoring and guiding local national employees would be advantageous.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully at all levels in order to work in a cooperative and constructive spirit with a variety of disciplines, personalities, and cultures.
Qualifications
• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline

Job Description
• Accountability for drilling team performance as measured by number of wells drilled, AFE vs actual costs, HSE performance, drilling performance vs. competitors, and continuous improvement.
• Set goals and performance targets for drilling team. Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation and initiate improvement programs where required.
• Accountable for the daily management and prioritization of an active drilling operations group - supervise engineering, operational, administrative, commercial and contractual planning and activities.
• Accountability for the manpower planning, skills assessment, and training for the drilling team in the Develop and mature the skills of subordinates within the drilling group.
• Accountable for long-term drilling materials planning and procurement activities.
• Prepare recommendations for senior management regarding improvements and cost savings within the scope of the operation.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure the operation is conducted in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with company and contractual requirements.
• Propose and implement new technologies and/or procedures as required for performance improvement.
