Chief Reservoir Engineer Operator Canada NEW - My client is a large Operator with assets in many global locations. They have a strong presence in Canada with the goal of expanding this team further. They are seeking a Chief Reservoir Engineer to work alongside other company Chiefs to ensure the technical quality and consistency of current and new projects. You will be leading a team of Reservoir engineers and providing mentoring and leadership when possible. You will also be required to offer advice on business development opportunities as they arise. You will be an experienced Chief Reservoir engineer or an ambitious Lead/Principal Reservoir engineer seeking a new and challenging opportunity. 15 years of Reservoir Engineering experience is a minimum. Some of this experience will ideally have worked on a diverse array of Reservoirs including both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Any further experience with Multi-Fracture techniques would be an asset. Essential: 15 Years Reservoir Engineering, Desired: Multi-Fracture techniques, Shale Gas, Tight Gas. Ensure that all documentation is maintained in accordance with company standards for accuracy and consistency. •Performs I&C engineering including preparation of: design criteria, specifications, calculations, data sheets, sketches, material requisitions and construction work packages. Job Description Responsible for broad technical oversight of engineering contractor's mechanical design and piping design, and of equipment suppliers' designs and manufacturing. Ensures that all affected parties are familiar with execution plans, procedures, objectives, and job requirements. Advises the contractor's team on design procedures, processes, and deliverables. Ensures that the contractor and suppliers employ the appropriate design tools, including computer software and hardware. Ensures that the contractor and suppliers comply with project specifications and standards. Attends suppliers' shops to reach alignment on design details, to review manufacturing work in progress, and to witness final inspections and tests. Participates in development of performance test plans and FAT plans. Facilitates resolution of mechanical design issues, working with company's engineering team, the engineering contractor, and suppliers. Gains alignment with the engineering lead, and with Company specialists when required. Participates as required in design reviews and risk assessments Ensures that the engineering contractor's work and procedures fulfill contract requirements in the mechanical and piping areas. Captures and communicates lessons learned for the project. Skills & Experience Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical. Extensive experience in crude oil and gas producing facilities design and operation, with considerable experience working on a large project or on a major operating area. Owner/Operating Company experience or equivalent is strongly preferred. Extensive knowledge of mechanical and piping engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Thorough knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria. Thorough knowledge and expert judgment in the selection and application of mechanical and piping design hardware and software. Capable of verifying that work of others is consistent with good design practices, realistic operating assumptions, and low lifecycle costs. Capable of developing procedures for testing, installation, commissioning and startup. Experience in coordinating engineering contractor work and in change management is desired. Strong communication, coordination, technical, and problem-solving skills. Adaptable to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities, within a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs. Must be able to travel to the project construction site periodically, to address any issues that arise. This is a contract position.
