Ensures that the contractor and suppliers employ the appropriate design tools, including computer software and hardware. Attends suppliers' shops to reach alignment on design details, to review manufacturing work in progress, and to witness final inspections and tests. Participates in development of performance test plans and FAT plans. Owner/Operating Company experience or equivalent is strongly preferred. Extensive knowledge of mechanical and piping engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Thorough knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria. Thorough knowledge and expert judgment in the selection and application of mechanical and piping design hardware and software. Capable of verifying that work of others is consistent with good design practices, realistic operating assumptions, and low lifecycle costs. Capable of developing procedures for testing, installation, commissioning and startup. Experience in coordinating engineering contractor work and in change management is desired. Strong communication, coordination, technical, and problem-solving skills. Adaptable to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities, within a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs. Must be able to travel to the project construction site periodically, to address any issues that arise. This is a contract position.
