Job Description

  • Provide continuous review of lifting practices to ensure compliance with the Major Project lifting procedure and Company SSoW 56-2
  • Responsible for ensuring that a regime is established and maintained on the site such that lifting operations are carried out safely
  • The authorization of all lifting plans and risk assessments for all categories of lifts, supported by the Lifting Technical Authority, methods teams or technical support engineer as appropriate
  • Ensuring that it is clear who is in charge of specific lifting operation
  • Ensuring that all personnel involved with any lifting operations on the site have proper training and are assessed as competent to SSOW standards and that a register and documentation of such personnel is maintained on the installation/site In depth knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations, standards, LOLER, company procedures, health and safety aspects, and industry best practice
  • Manage and control the rigging and lifting loft inventory
  • Maintain the register of generic and specific site lifting plans and risk assessments
  • Have the responsibility for all site lifting activities
  • Authorize lifting plans and risk assessments for all lifts
  • Shall check work sites to verify that the conditions detailed in the permit/plan have not been compromised and that the work is being carried out in a safe manner
  • Shall ensure that lifting equipment meets the requirements of the Major Project lifting procedure
  • Shall ensure that all lifting equipment is appropriately certified
  • Shall ensure that lifting machines and equipment are maintained as part of a plan maintenance system

Skills & Experience

  • Have past history of producing lifting plans and risk assessments
  • Shall understand drawings and configuration layouts
  • A lifting background with proven competency and shall have worked on major construction sites
  • High level of written and spoken English
  • Good computer skills and be a communicator

Azerbaijan local national salary and terms apply.

This is a contract position.
