Main responsibilities include` producing, reviewing and approving specifications and related technical documents covering all materials and corrosion mitigation aspects associated with construction and installation of subsea structures/ pipeline systems, reviewing client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials, and corrosion mitigation systems and provide technical qualifications where required, reviewing and approving contractor/subcontractor/ vendor procedures relating to coating application and material use, providing specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines with regard to materials selection and corrosion mitigation, maintaining awareness of recognised industry codes and standards relevant to corrosion and materials discipline.

Duration: 12 Month Contract (Extendable/Indefinite duration)
Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience
Working Week: 40 Hour per week

The Requirements
Main responsibilities include` producing, reviewing and approving specifications and related technical documents covering all materials and corrosion mitigation aspects associated with construction and installation of subsea structures/ pipeline systems, reviewing client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials, and corrosion mitigation systems and provide technical qualifications where required, reviewing and approving contractor/subcontractor/ vendor procedures relating to coating application and material use, providing specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines with regard to materials selection and corrosion mitigation, maintaining awareness of recognised industry codes and standards relevant to corrosion and materials discipline.
You will require a degree in chemistry, metallurgy, materials science, or a related engineering subject, a post graduate qualification in corrosion science/engineering is desirable; other qualifications may be considered dependent on experience.
You should have extensive corrosion experience within the Engineering discipline some of which should be within oil & gas or related sectors, experience in performing CP design for pipelines and Subsea installations is essential.
Experience in application of corrosion protection and insulation coating including field joint coating systems is essential.
An understanding of corrosion processes in offshore environment and internal pipeline systems is essential

Your responsibilities will include other tasks which your manager may instruct you to undertake from time to time • To act as a focal point/technical authority for pipeline engineering questions throughout the engineering design, construction and installation phases of the pipeline projects. • To provide pipeline engineering input to other disciplines to assure that the design outputs are consistent. • To act as project authority for the review of the pipeline aspects of Designs Bases, design drawings, specifications and installation procedures. • To assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered during installation (eg as related to pipe laying, risers, tie-ins, hydrotesting, welding etc) • To initiate and coordinate tasks needed for project execution including surveys, permitting or government reviews, material specification, installation procedures, testing etc. • Active contribution as a key member of the Engineering Team. • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the team. • Take commercial responsibility for work executed within the teams. • Contribute to business development and tendering activities. • Act as line manager for Pipelines team members.
