Our client is a major international company involved mainly with the third party storage and distribution of oil, gas and petrochemical products. They are expanding their existing storage terminal operations in the UK to further consolidate their market leading position and now need additional high caliber resources.
The successful candidate will coordinate and direct the design, engineering and construction of the storage facilities on both brownfield and greenfield sites. Hands on project management experience in the fuels, chemicals and gas arena is important as is an excellent grasp of the associated Industry specific standards and regulatory compliance issues linked with the storage and handling of hazardous materials.
The scope of the role includes handling the full technical and operational requirements for the project. You will also oversee most of the project phases which would include design, construction, commissioning and start up of the terminal and storage expansion projects. Key criteria would be to manage the project , costs, project planning and implementation, as well as securing the internal and external (regulatory) approval gateways
Ideally you will have a strong chemical or mechanical engineering qualification with some post graduate studies in Project Management. However of more importance is a track record of successful project management of substantial capital projects, and their delivery, in a relevant Industry sector as the client needs a confident and experienced manager who can lead teams and immediately contribute to the technical and operations management of this major project.
The position offers a competitive salary and career prospects and the overall package can be tailored to suit candidate preferences on either a permanent or interim basis.
