    Job Description

    The position is responsible for the implementation of good oil field practices through a sound engineering approach. This approach incorporates both theoretical and practical onsite applications. Responsibilities include; Non-rig engineering programme preparation and review, well site supervision of local witnesses and service providers, engineering execution and post work reporting of operations and problem investigation and organisationt cause analysis.

    The position is responsible for helping to implement engineering standardisation, quality assurance processes and checks, well integrity compliance, and bench marking through implementation of base / field audits on work sites and of service providers. The position requires you to interact with other departments including reservoir, operations, HSE, Work-Over/Drilling groups and the sub-surface team.

    - Active leadership in sound engineering oilfield practices

    - Monitor service providers through formal audit and inspections to promote good HSE & oil field practice

    - QA/QC engineering programs for field based operation & specialised well intervention

    - Develop and implement organisation WS standards and procedures

    - Provide engineering solutions to WS & Well Integrity challenges

    Skills & Experience

    - BSc Engineering preferred or equivalent in an engineering or related discipline,

    - Vast relevant oilfield experience with considerable in an engineering role,

    - Middle East experience preferred.

    - IWCF - Well Control Intervention and Pressure Control (New Level 4) certificate or WCI equivalent.

    - Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

    - Proficiency in managing contracts in a Contracts Accountable Manager (CAM) role.

    - Can demonstrate leadership and mentoring qualities

    - Ability to understand and work with differing cultures

    - Pass BP medical assessment.

    - Attend and complete Company 2 day HET course in UK.

    Advanced knowledge in the following:

    - The development of standards and procedures.

    - Technical audits/evaluations, appraisals and support.

    - Responsible for active HSE leadership on a personal and team level; conduct and submit at least 12 Leadership Site Visits (LSVs) per hitch as part of the Wells Leadership Team and ensure that office-based team members visit/audit their assigned rig operations.

    - Review incidents/HIPOs and inform rigs of learnings.

    - Incorporate recommended actions into future operations to prevent reoccurrence.

    - Liaise with the Drilling Engineering team to review upcoming wells schedules and drilling programs while implementing operational excellence initiatives to optimize drilling operations.

    - Mentor and guide WSLs and drilling contractors to ensure that HSE goals, operational integrity, standards, and well objectives are not compromised during drilling operations.

    - Thorough, continuous communication required with rigs, service companies, project/contractor drilling engineering teams, and multidisciplinary functions.

    - Ensure continuity of drilling operations by monitoring logistics and services with the 5- and 14-day look-ahead reviews and deconflict and streamline operational concerns/bottlenecks, where necessary.

    - Review with Subsurface and Ops Petro/NWD personnel the caliper, cement bond, formation pressure, gamma ray, density, and other wireline logs to evaluate whether or not operational/zonal isolation objectives were met and how to best perforate/produce wells.

    - Suggest technical and/or operational improvements, especially when dealing with lesser-experienced contractor rig management and crews.

    - Chair multidisciplinary rig-/camp-move meetings to ensure all safety, logistics, people, and material requirements are understood and met.

    - Facilitate multidisciplinary pre-spud meetings to ensure that all operational, production, logging, and anti-collision requirements are understood and met and that there are no drilling surprises in well.

    - Ensure Mentors guide local national staff in a calm, effective way and that the mentor maintains a professional atmosphere at the rig site.

    - Provide an office-based point of contact for Mentors.

    - Monitor and provide timely, meaningful feedback and critiques to various service providers through evaluation reports.

    - Complete/review incident reports and contractual non-conformance reports and manage close-out and final sign-off processes.

    - Provide technical, quality control, contract verification, and team leader approval through FileNet of all contract field service tickets.

    - Conduct rig calls with all rigs to ensure adherence to drilling programs and provide oversight/guidance, as necessary, to mentors and WSLs.

    - Formally designated to perform critical on-scene command duties during well control activities and other critical processes/procedures.

    - Conduct and record bi-weekly meetings with rig-based mentors.

    - Discuss HSE, training, operational challenges and techniques, and lessons learned while facilitating after-action reviews (AARs).

    - Conduct and record bi-weekly drilling contractor meetings to review operational, HSE, and corrective action requirements while building critical rapport amongst the writ-large drilling team.

    - Drive RA process with HSE, drilling engineering team, and other multidisciplinary functions, such as Operations, Security, and HSE.

    - Track rig's Corrective Action Registers (CARs) from audit and 5-year recertification processes.

    - Monitor contractor SMS/PMS.

    - Mentor and educate contractor management teams on continuous improvement process and implement continuous improvement process on each of the rigs; create cross-tell system to ensure lessons are learned and best practices are adopted.

    - Ensure well control and medical emergency response plans are current and that mentors, WSLs, and contractors are competent in their use.

    - Review and approve all drilling programs and ensure that lessons learned are incorporated to continuously improve drilling operations.

    - Review and approve all well and wells-to-operations handover documents and end-of-well reports to ensure that the 14-day handover deadline is met, thus assuring quickest put-on-production (POP) times.

    This is a contract position.
