Our Client, an internationally renowned Construction & Engineering Consultancy, focused on bringing excellence to construction schemes around the World is currently seeking Senior Project Managers to lead major Civil Engineering Construction programmes in the Middle East. They are looking for experienced Project Managers to work on high profile projects based in Iraq.

Key RequirementsThe ideal candidate will be comfortable in a client – facing role where they will be managing the successful delivery of a high – profile project. As Project Manager, you will have a detailed understanding of planning, design and procurement as well as delivery on time and on budget. You will be fully accountable for the success of your project, with ownership for the creation of strategic delivery plans that enable you to lead your multi – cultural teams in creating lasting and breath - taking commissions. You should be comfortable working in the Middle East, ideally having a successful track record of construction schemes in the region. You will be a confident, commercially aware and articulate person of immense integrity.

Accountabilities: The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of engineers and asset integrity professionals to: • Drive a safety driven approach to Engineering Change and Process Design Management to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements, Company and Industry codes and standards, and HAZOP actions. • Manage all Plant Process Engineering issues related to plant performance and efficiency, trouble shooting and unit optimisation, via process monitoring and working closely with the Operations Superintendent to manage overall plant optimisation of gas and liquids production. • Deliver, minor capital projects, and manage engineering change to all areas of the Plant's operations as necessary to ensure continued safe production reliability and delivery. • Assist Operations in planning and executing an agreed maintenance strategy across the gas processing, NGL and LPG recovery plants. Provide the lead in the planning and identification of synergies in the execution and resourcing of these activities where possible. • Provide strategic leadership and planning capability to the engineering and site operations, and actively participate in the Plant Operations Management team to provide hardware and system improvements to drive engineering value across the production delivery process.
Major Challenges: • The inherent purpose and design of the Plant and operating environment make ongoing operations and maintenance challenging and will require innovative and comprehensive planning to optimise and maximise the value from this asset. • The amount of project work required to be carried out as concurrent activities is significant and will require full integration with the day to day production activities via strategic planning. • Providing day to day process engineering support to the plant. • Resourcing for all engineering and project execution at the site Operating Environment: • The position is based in Erbil and is responsible for leading a combination of office based and site based engineers, and contract resources, and direct liaison with the Plant management Team. • Regular site visits to the plant, located around 3 hours’ drive from Erbil, will be required.
