External: Daily with Saudi Arab vendors, manufacturers and representatives of non-Saudi Arab Companies to negotiate purchase order requirements, agreements, discuss and/or resolve problems. JOB SCOPE: Under the direction of the Unit Supervisor, or Lead Buyer, the incumbent is responsible for and handles all normal purchasing functions for assigned classes of low value non-critical materials for AMS and Direct Charge requirements. Responsibilities include development of bidders lists, the make up and submitting of requests for quotations, approval of bid summaries for Direct Charge and Storestock requisitions, placement of purchase orders/agreements, issuing of change orders including cancellations as specified in the guidelines and procedures outlined in the Client’s Worldwide Purchasing Manual. Low value, non-critical materials (designated items within a given commodity class such as pipe, chemicals, industrial parts, etc.) generally have small fluctuations in usage. PRINCIPAL TASKS: • Initiates purchase orders or long range purchase agreements for the supply of materials.
