Job DescriptionMajor Projects are responsible for the management of the Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of all plant and equipment associated with field enhancements, both Brownfield and Greenfield, and involving significant capital spend. The Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) will manage delivery of all contracts awarded and perform an assurance role on behalf of the investors in the redevelopment of the Rumaila Field.

Following a tender process by the Iraq Ministry of Oil, BP, in partnership with the China National Petroleum Corporation was awarded the right to work on Rumaila, Iraq’s largest producing field and the fourth largest oil field in the world. Rumaila runs down to the Kuwait border and is approximately 80 km long by 10 km wide, encompassing degassing/desalting Stations, well sites and gathering systems. Rumaila currently produces around 1 million barrels of oil per day with an Iraqi work force of several thousand.
Our objective is to increase production by nearly three times, considerably beyond the field’s historical peak rate of 1.75 million barrels per day. The contract will be implemented in a partnership between BP, CNPC and SOMO, the State Oil Marketing Organisation. Work will be executed through the South Oil Company (SOC), who currently operate the field.
The investment required, technology application, and increased production are world scale and with wide ranging development and training opportunities. This project is material and long lasting with significant benefits to the Republic of Iraq at the local, regional and country level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Work closely with Phase 2 engineering contractor to develop and review engineering, procurement and construction schedules, and associated schedule basis documentation. • Represent scheduling work in assurance reviews with TCO and partner subject matter experts and management. • Interface with TCO project team members in Atyrau and Houston in reviewing schedules. • Continue development of owner team schedule, working closely with TCO project team members and TCO and Chevron functional groups. • Interface with TCO planners in Atyrau to provide updates to the Phase 2 schedule. • Develop schedule management plans for FEED • Provide input on proposed Work Breakdown Structures. • Provide planning input to the project controls plans, including plans for analysis of progress and forecasts using Earned Value techniques. • Coordinate with key vendors to incorporate their schedules. • Proactively develop relationships, identifies opportunities to add value, and engage team members as needed • Recommend and implement scheduling systems (e.g., Primavera) for the project, coordinating resources from IT and other functional groups. • Support project risk assessment and management processes as needed for schedule risk analysis. Prepare and execute risk mitigation plans related to planning and scheduling. • If assignment is extended through FEED, this position may be responsible for working with the FEED contractor to: o Work with FEED contractor to transition ownership of schedule, and to set up master project schedule database structure o Work with TCO and Contractor IT to set up TCO-compliant database server infrastructure. o Provide leadership and guidance and coordinate work of other planners. o Monitor major project milestones and report deviations in a timely manner. o Evaluate critical paths in the project schedules and evaluate alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems. o Develop and implement plan versus actual progress curves. o Evaluate allocation of resources and provide resource recommendations to maintain required progress. o Prepare monthly progress reports summarizing progress and highlighting areas of deviation from plans with recommended solutions. o Assist team in establishing short and long-term work priorities o Work closely with cost engineer and accountant for expenditure and value of work forecasting. o Participate in scheduling coordination meetings. o Ensure that all planning and scheduling processes, methods and systems are functioning in accordance with the project requirements and expectations • Perform other pertinent duties as assigned.
Type: Short Term Contract / OfficeSalary: ExellentThe successful candidate is expected to be located in an engineering contractor’s office in central London, but other locations could include a Chevron or engineering contractor’s office in the greater London area. The assignment is expected to last through the end of 2016, but may be extended into the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) stage depending on location and candidate performance.
