    Are you an experienced QA Engineer seeking a new opportunity? An exciting contract has arisen to join the ILW Programme at Berkeley Centre.

    The successful candidate will directly support Projects/Programmes in the development, implementation and review of management arrangements that ensure compliance with regulatory and Company requirements. In particular the inpidual will support our ILW Programme/projects in procuring Ductile Cast Iron Containers (DCICs) from existing and new suppliers worldwide. The inpidual should be a 'practitioner' and have robust QA delivery expertise, as well as audit and inspection capability that may be deployed within Magnox and across the supply chain.

    Key Tasks/Responsibilities

    * Provide advice and support to the current and future DCIC procurement projects * Work with the multidisciplinary team ensuring the programme delivers quality products with robust arrangements * Undertake activities to support effective Programme and Project implementation of management arrangements, including production of quality assurance documentation. * Review suppliers' management arrangements for designing, substantiating, manufacturing and testing DCICs * Monitor compliance with standards, processes and procedures and take action as appropriate to achieve improvement. * Provide technical expertise, advice, guidance and support in Quality Assurance and document management. * Provide direct support in the Production of Project Quality Plans and assist with other Project Documents e.g. Project Execution Plan * Liaise with other departments to facilitate the planning of quality aspects of work programmes. * Co-ordinate the implementation of the quality aspects of work programmes. * Provide technical support for the implementation of the audit programme * Carry out reviews, audit and inspections of Projects'/Contractors' performance in Quality Assurance * Ensure that relevant quality standards are applied to the procurement process and for management of the supply chain


    The QA Engineer must be an experienced quality practitioner and auditor preferably with a proven track record in leading audits against ISO 9001; IRCA registration is not essential. This would suit a candidate who has worked within a Projects Environment as QA Engineer. Experience of working within a nuclear environment would be ideal but is not essential. If you have a Certificate in Environmental Management / Safety / QA, are a Member of a relevant professional institute and are educated to NQF level 5 / NVQ Level 5, I would be keen to hear from you.

    Our client is looking for a QC Civil Inspector to work initially in Woking with transfer to site at Sullom Voe.

    Provide technical advice, guidance, assistance and support through all stages of the Project scope of work at site on SVGS PLANT, and to all participating companies, i.e. suppliers of materials, goods and services with regard to the implementation of, and adherence to project Quality plans, company Quality Policies and procedures and to Client/ company/Sub-contractor interfacing arrangements.

    - Witnessing and sentencing of all site civil engineering inspections

    - Coordinate all Civil Engineering site inspections with the site civil engineering subcontractors

    - Ensure that all inspection reports are accurate and that all attached documents are current status

    - Ensure all work is correctly prepared prior to any inspection being undertaken

    - Review all inspection reports for compliance

    - Assist the site Lead QA Engineer in the organisation, maintenance and control of the quality system

    - Liaise with the site construction engineers and provide assistance when requested

    - Prepare non-conformance reports to the Site Lead QA/QC Engineer and assist in developing corrective actions

    - Assist the Site Lead QA/QC Engineer and the Construction and Commissioning manager in resolving any discrepancies and ambiguities

    - Coordinate with the Company QC inspectors for the resolution of site problems

    - Coordinate with the site subcontractors to ensure that communications exist and are maintained

    - Assist the site subcontractors in the resolution of drawing interpretation

    - Attend the site meetings as required.

    - Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the Company contract specialisations

    - The identification and issuance of non-conformance reports in conjunction with the Site Lead QA/QC Engineer.

    - The completion of QC site instructions and coordinate their closure The review of inspection test packages during the course of civil engineering construction activities

    - Compliance with the site's health and safety regulations

    Skills & Experience

    - A number of experience in an oil/gas related supervisory position

    - Previous experience of supervision of multi discipline Project support teams

    - Experience of working on major Civil/Building works projects with oil and gas involvement

    - Formal engineering training and technical qualification

    This is a contract position.

    Must have an excellent understanding of product quality, preferably proven ISO 9001 experience.

    - Reporting to the Supplier Quality Lead, The Supplier Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of Supplier Quality within the supply chain.

    - The SQE shall have a solid understanding of the supply chain business processes and have the ability to influence across the wide range of functional groups, both internal and external, to ensure business success.

    - This inpidual is the prime interface with suppliers on all quality matters.

    - To establish a robust and sustainable solution to quality problems in purchased products / services.

    - To identify, assess and manage potential supplier quality issues in order to pro actively minimise risks and prevent exposure to supplier induced quality issues.

    - The role requires flexibility, with visits to suppliers and other sites worldwide.

    - Investigation and timely resolution of supplier quality issues, driving root cause analysis through use of processes such as 8D and Taproot©.

    - Regular analysis of supplier performance, supporting the Supply Chain department in the generation of KPI scorecards.

    - Develop improvement plans to drive long term supplier performance improvement with the aim of mitigating product quality risk.

    - Generate and maintain Incoming Inspection Plans and Inspection Flags so that an appropriate level of inspection is undertaken at Goods Inwards Inspection, commensurate with supplier performance and product complexity/quality requirements.

    - Understand project and customer contract requirements and ensure necessary flow down to suppliers for compliance.

    - Understand supplier requirements for quality, ensuring that supply timely and accurate information through drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

    - Organise and facilitate Design for Manufacture programs between suppliers and engineering groups for key produucts.

    Qualifications

    - Engineering Degree or equivalent.

    - Formal training in the ISO 9001 Standard.

    - Lead Auditor.

    - Demonstrable relevant experience of working in a QA department, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry but not limited to (other industries background will be welcomed such as automotive, aerospace, etc.)

    - A recognised Quality Assurance or Quality Management qualification, would be a plus.

    This is a permanent position.
