Job Description

Our client is an international energy services company operating in engineering & production facilities, well support and gas turbine services. Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries

As Assistant/Trainee Cost Engineer your main responsibilities will include

Understand the corporate and contract specific cost procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these.
Study and understand all relevant project documents relating to the cost management of allocated project(s).
Assisting in the review of cost commitment and expenditure information (for all cost elements), for input to the computerised cost control and reporting system on a weekly basis and ensuring that all information received is accurate and correctly input.
Assisting in the production of regular cost reports.
Maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
Review project manhours and the allocation of manhours in conjunction with planning on a weekly basis.
Maintain rates within Computerised Cost System.
Maintain a good working knowledge of relevant corporate cost software.
Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
Ensure that the Corporate and Project Specific Change Control procedures are being adhered to.
Assist Cost Department on reporting how the change control effort is impacting on the project
And any other duties appropriate to this position

Education & Qualifications:
A-Levels or equivalent experience

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Good general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control

Experience:
High degree of computer literacy

    - A key aspect of this position is to perform evaluations of vendor responses to Purchase Order Quality requirements stated in inquiries and tenders (RFI, RFP, RFA, BCM, PO KO Meetings) with input & follow up.

    - Carry out audits of Contractor & Suppliers/Sub-Suppliers as requested by Functional Quality Lead Engineer & Project/AVL Audit Schedule.     Job Responsibilities

This will be done hand in hand with contract management and fault diagnosis for any project work in Controls & Instrumentation.
    They may also be required to perform any number of the following tasks;

    Experience and Qualifications

Coordinate with the vendor during test execution. *Collect test data and document deviations from the initial control system configuration required to complete the test. *Prepare a test report documenting the test and it's results. *Coordinate with the vendor to prepare the test kit for shipment back to MAC facility. *Review the test report with the MAC Execution team and the customer to highlight configuration changes indicated by the test results.
