Job Description

Our client is an international energy services company operating in engineering & production facilities, well support and gas turbine services. Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries

As Assistant/Trainee Cost Engineer your main responsibilities will include

Understand the corporate and contract specific cost procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these.
Study and understand all relevant project documents relating to the cost management of allocated project(s).
Assisting in the review of cost commitment and expenditure information (for all cost elements), for input to the computerised cost control and reporting system on a weekly basis and ensuring that all information received is accurate and correctly input.
Assisting in the production of regular cost reports.
Maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
Review project manhours and the allocation of manhours in conjunction with planning on a weekly basis.
Maintain rates within Computerised Cost System.
Maintain a good working knowledge of relevant corporate cost software.
Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
Ensure that the Corporate and Project Specific Change Control procedures are being adhered to.
Assist Cost Department on reporting how the change control effort is impacting on the project
And any other duties appropriate to this position

Education & Qualifications:
A-Levels or equivalent experience

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Good general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control

Experience:
High degree of computer literacy

    Supply Chain & Operational Sourcing:
    The position will take ownership of the delivery of EE&P Supply Chain activities. This shall include developing strategy, framing deals and collaborative initiatives.
    The position is a specialist experienced role providing specialist discipline advice.
    The position will be responsible for ensuring all materials, goods and services are hired or procured and expedited and delivered to EE&P in a cost effective manner ensuring all legislative requirements are fulfilled and adhered to.

    Provide specialist Category knowledge across functional teams.
    Manage key stakeholder engagement and ensure visibility of Category Plan with key stakeholders and Asset Leadership Team, seeking their contribution where necessary.
    Influences across organisational boundaries and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
    Be accountable for own and team members' personal and professional development. Mentoring, coaching and sharing knowledge to aid others development.

    Financials:
    Ensure a cost effective Category service is carried out within budget.

    Experience:
    Strong Supply Chain background, developed in the upstream oil & gas sector is essential, coupled with a track record of demonstrable success.
    Must have experience of managing teams.

    Education:
    Degree qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. Supply Chain Management, Business Studies, law, would be desirable
    CIPS Membership desirable
