Job Description

As Senior Electrical Engineer, your main responsibilities will include;

Technical assurance for Management of Change (MOC) of electrical systems. The post holder is the senior Discipline Responsible Engineer with respect to electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, including review of proposed modifications and design input to utility planning for infrastructure improvements. The role provides a significant degree of coaching and mentoring to other staff in support of the overall health of the discipline for the region.

Job responsibilities include technical assurance for integrity management of electrical systems, ad hoc support to site-based staff, project management for minor electrical improvements and supervision of electrical installation contractors, specification of new equipment for procurement, including verification of quality assurance methods, functional performance testing and equipment certification. The role supports activity/turnaround planning with respect to electrical maintenance, inspection, testing and modifications.

Key Accountabilities

* Coach and mentor engineers, drive the development of the electrical engineering organizational capability within the region.
* Lead electrical discipline work scopes, engineering queries (EQs), and MOCs for the asset in all operating areas (process, non-process and waste operations).
* Deliver discipline-specific support to the asset in resolving operations, maintenance, and techincal integrity issues
* Provide assurance for Safety-Critical Equipment maintenance and oversight of hazardous area Ex inspection programme
* Oversee engineering feasibility studies for minor electrical projects
* Liaison with Small Projects, provide constructive feedback for scope development and critical/independent review of detailed design packages
* Communicate design expectations and site implementation standards to Projects teams; Share lessons learned with Projects and with regional/global ICE CoPs.
* Provide Operations input to Major Projects regarding electrical systems design
* Manage all deliverables from electrical engineering contractors and suppliers
* Provide input to hazard identification and risk assessments for proposed changes
* Lead or support incident investigations and RCFA involving electrical equipment.
* Ensure that relevant Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs), codes, standards, design guidelines and regulations relevant to electrical systems are correctly interpreted and applied
* Carry out gap assessments against ETPs and raise formal deviations where non- conformance is identified; Establish and implements action plans to close gaps
* Collaborate with specialists and engineers of all disciplines

    The role of the Operations Discipline Coach in the Technician Post Foundation Training Project is to work with Operations Discipline Advisors, TTE-P Instructors and others to effectively support the development of graduate technicians from the foundation training program.

    While the primary role of the Operations Discipline Coach (ODC) is to coach and assess the technicians to CMAS standards, they also play an important role in the design, development and implementation of the entire Post Foundation Training Program (PFTP).

    Working with the ODA's and TTE-P instructors

    - Define and develop training requirements and methods for each element to support technician development and preparation for assessments

    - Participate in planning and scheduling meetings - training and assessment schedules.

    - Resource effective training materials and work with the PFTP Project Coordinator to include these in our document management system.

    - Measure and track technician performance and other activities related to program development and implementation.

    - Imbed the use of Technician Log Books & Trip Objectives, team weekly reports and inpidual progress reports

    - Develop strong positive working relationships with Sangachal staff in support of using the terminal for technician training, coaching and assessments - work with Superintendents, the planning team and others to effectively integrate our training, coaching and assessment activities plus identify opportunities or work we can do to help the Sangachal team while progressing our technicians

    - Identify and order or obtain tools, kit and equipment needed in the workshop and at Sangachal for training and assessment activities.

    Coach and Assess the technicians on elements defined for the program to the CMAS Standards.

    As a Leader in HSE ensure key HSE management systems and principles are imbedded in the technicians before site assignment. Some examples:

    - Ensure CoW procedures are understood and followed

    - Ensure daily tool box talks are happening - periodically participate and recognize inpiduals for good contributions and help the group to be effective

    - Conduct regular Safety Observation Conversations with constructive feedback and follow up where required

    - Re-enforce the value of BOSS with regular activities in place to recognize results.

    - Attend regular safety meetings - support topics and positively re-enforce inpiduals participation

    - Support safety committee for the PFTP groups providing input to this group to define activities including topics for safety meetings, safety objectives, performance measures and reporting, incident report shared learning's, process safety understanding and integrate safety activities with the foundation training program where appropriate

    Provide honest and constructive feedback to each technician after each assessment on their development progress. Summary of progress to be recorded and any concerns or issues relating to technician technical, safety or behaviour development are to be recorded and reported to ODA's.

    Support the development of Instructors (TTE-P Staff) in company Systems, Programs & Procedures with the intent of having them become more capable in delivering training required for the Post Foundation Training Program. Some examples include:

    - Documentum

    - CoW standards including ISSOW

    - Maximo

    - Performing and Area authority standards and qualifications

    - CMAS Assessor

    - E-warehouse light

    Working with ODA's and Instructors, identify opportunities for improvement in the Foundation Training Program. The ODA's will bring recommendations through the Post Foundation Training Program TL who will work directly with the training provider (TTE-P) to address recommendations.

    - Significant experience involving the process for installing cross country large bore pipelines

    - Experience & knowledge involving the installation of linepipe by the Horizontal Direction Drill

    - and Tunnel Boring Machine methods and major tie-ins (hot taps) to live operating pipelines

    - Experience involving the installation of international pipeline projects

    - Ability to provide technical support & assurance of applicable linepipe installation standards
