As Senior Electrical Engineer, your main responsibilities will include;

Technical assurance for Management of Change (MOC) of electrical systems. The post holder is the senior Discipline Responsible Engineer with respect to electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, including review of proposed modifications and design input to utility planning for infrastructure improvements. The role provides a significant degree of coaching and mentoring to other staff in support of the overall health of the discipline for the region.

Job responsibilities include technical assurance for integrity management of electrical systems, ad hoc support to site-based staff, project management for minor electrical improvements and supervision of electrical installation contractors, specification of new equipment for procurement, including verification of quality assurance methods, functional performance testing and equipment certification. The role supports activity/turnaround planning with respect to electrical maintenance, inspection, testing and modifications.

Key Accountabilities

* Coach and mentor engineers, drive the development of the electrical engineering organizational capability within the region.
* Lead electrical discipline work scopes, engineering queries (EQs), and MOCs for the asset in all operating areas (process, non-process and waste operations).
* Deliver discipline-specific support to the asset in resolving operations, maintenance, and techincal integrity issues
* Provide assurance for Safety-Critical Equipment maintenance and oversight of hazardous area Ex inspection programme
* Oversee engineering feasibility studies for minor electrical projects
* Liaison with Small Projects, provide constructive feedback for scope development and critical/independent review of detailed design packages
* Communicate design expectations and site implementation standards to Projects teams; Share lessons learned with Projects and with regional/global ICE CoPs.
* Provide Operations input to Major Projects regarding electrical systems design
* Manage all deliverables from electrical engineering contractors and suppliers
* Provide input to hazard identification and risk assessments for proposed changes
* Lead or support incident investigations and RCFA involving electrical equipment.
* Ensure that relevant Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs), codes, standards, design guidelines and regulations relevant to electrical systems are correctly interpreted and applied
* Carry out gap assessments against ETPs and raise formal deviations where non- conformance is identified; Establish and implements action plans to close gaps
* Collaborate with specialists and engineers of all disciplines

    - Review of Contractor Electrical inspectors competency and Electrical procedures to confirm conformance with company requirements.

    - Assist in the Mechanical Completion processes as required.

    - Performs monitoring and surveillances of Contractors site Electrical construction activities.

    - Provide HSE leadership and report to Company any unsafe acts or conditions, work with Company and Contractors to deliver expectations.

    - Responsible for company review of Contractors site E& or I and issues reports on acceptance of work performed by Contractor.

    - Identify and recommends resolutions of non-conformances and corrective actions to Contractors site construction activities and monitors to satisfactory close-out.

    - Review, mark up and participate in Contractors Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) ensure Company monitor, witness and hold points included in ITPs are implemented.

    - Provide input into lessons learned and risk management systems.

    - Provide detailed daily, weekly and monthly Quality reports as required by project and attend project meetings as required.

    - Review and confirm conformance of Contractors E&I personnel and procedures.

    - Implement performance reviews, recommend areas for improvement.

    - Ensure Contractors fully implement project requirements as defined in approved specifications and procedures, particularly on "Ex" certified equipment.

    - Source required data for monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

    - Monitor the calibration status of tools used by the inspectors of the Contractor and Vendors.

    - Participates in contractors internal audits associated with discipline.

    - Promotes and leads by example on a One Team philosophy and works with the contractor to ensure continuous improvement.

    - Promotes the use of non-conformances as opportunities for improvement.

    - Identifies the NCR and seeks buy in by the contractor to issue it in their own system for resolution, close out and follow up on the preventive actions to ensure they do not repeat themselves.

    - Applies a proactive approach to inspection to get it right the first time by being in front of the activities and not behind.

    - Ensures the GOC documentation is being completed in time and in an accurate manner as activities get completed.

    - Supports the E&I equipment safe storage and preservation efforts.

    - Ensures all E&I contractor technicians and inspectors have clear visibility of the correct and incorrect ways for mounting equipment and terminating cables by implementing a quality board with pictures of examples or a container with physical examples.

    Skills and Experience

    - Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering (HNC minimum).

    - Valid CompEx (or equivalent) Certificate.

    - Qualified as internal quality auditor (ISO-9000)(Desired).

    - Moderate experience in Electrical Inspection, relating to construction of electrical installations in the Oil and Gas industry, installation of "Ex" certified equipment, detailed inspections of "Ex" certified equipment in accordance with IEC 60079 - Part 17, cable glands/HV terminations/instrument tubing fittings inspections.

    - Moderate experience in inspection surveillances on client behalf overseeing Contractors work activities on HV & LV Switchgear/Transformers, UPS & Batteries, Power Generation, Lighting & Small Power, Cathodic protection systems and equipment.

    - Experience in commissioning preferred.

    - Experience in preservation activities preferred.

    - Good knowledge of hands-on use of inspection tools.

    - Has experience of Ex databases or ATEX lists of compliance.

    - Ensuring that Shipyard QHSE standards are maintained, monitored and make suggestions for improvement in accordance with company expectations

    - Responsible for all electrical aspects of construction, installation and commissioning stages of the SCV build.

    - Inspecting the works in accordance with the quality rules and regulations, specifications, engineering drawings and applicable construction standards.

    - Provide detailed inspection reports with the results and findings of every inspection.

    - Provide and inspection schedule to the yard and also randomly perform inspections and tests to confirm that the work is being carried out to QHSE standards and the relevant rules and regulations.

    - Work in close cooperation with the Shipyard mechanical/pipework engineers

    - Monitor the performance of subcontractors and initiate actions if delivery deviates from specifications and schedule

    - Review work packages, commissioning procedures, SAT procedures and mechanical completion documents

    - Monitoring, logging and analysis of the incoming engineering data from the Shipyard

    - Providing on?site assistance for the interface between the detailed engineering data and the yards' fabrication engineering

    - Monitoring, logging, reporting and following up on engineering queries and/or changes from the Shipyard

    - Monitoring the engineering installation and commissioning interface between the Yard and vendors

    - Verifying variations and/or variation orders on technical content

    - Providing construction related project information for the project progress reports and weekly project meeting.

    - Verifying procurement related variation orders on technical content

    - Monitoring and assisting in the engineering information interface between vendors and suppliers and the Yard's engineering department

    - Work closely with Class surveyors to ensure full compliance with Class rules, Flag state and relevant guidelines

    - Work closely with the chosen marine/installation vessel operators and integrate the marine crew into the mechanical completion/commissioning processes

    - Ensure that all appropriate technical documentation is verified and maintained in readiness for vessel project operations

    - Over-see all electrical/electronic MC's and commissioning tests, review and comment on any findings and make recommendations were appropriate

    - Over-see the sea trials plan (electrical/electronic) and make recommendations for any additional testing above the requirements of the ship yard, Flag state or class as may be required for additional marine assurance verification.

    - Provide input and lead an integrated FMEA for the SCV as part of the project sea-trials SoW.

    - Make recommendations on any findings from FAT's/SiT's/FMEA's or sea-trials. The above responsibilities apply to both the Singapore Shipyard and the Baku Shipyard (BSY) stages of the vessel build

    - Provide detailed information and assistance to the site construction manager regarding inspection results

    - Carry out inspection of equipment arriving on site noting condition and compliance with specifications.

    Skills & Experience

    - Electrical degree, HND or equivalent

    - Extensive experience in Electrical/Automation/DP design and construction

    - Proven capability of leading successful teams

    - Experience with site construction activities related to health, safety, and environmental issues.

    - Exhibits understanding of DP, Umbilical lay, ping practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality.

    - Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects

    - Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result

    - A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills

    - Financial and commercial awareness.

    - Self-motivated.

    - Computer literate
