Job Description

As Senior Electrical Engineer, your main responsibilities will include;

Technical assurance for Management of Change (MOC) of electrical systems. The post holder is the senior Discipline Responsible Engineer with respect to electrical power generation, control and distribution systems, including review of proposed modifications and design input to utility planning for infrastructure improvements. The role provides a significant degree of coaching and mentoring to other staff in support of the overall health of the discipline for the region.

Job responsibilities include technical assurance for integrity management of electrical systems, ad hoc support to site-based staff, project management for minor electrical improvements and supervision of electrical installation contractors, specification of new equipment for procurement, including verification of quality assurance methods, functional performance testing and equipment certification. The role supports activity/turnaround planning with respect to electrical maintenance, inspection, testing and modifications.

Key Accountabilities

* Coach and mentor engineers, drive the development of the electrical engineering organizational capability within the region.
* Lead electrical discipline work scopes, engineering queries (EQs), and MOCs for the asset in all operating areas (process, non-process and waste operations).
* Deliver discipline-specific support to the asset in resolving operations, maintenance, and techincal integrity issues
* Provide assurance for Safety-Critical Equipment maintenance and oversight of hazardous area Ex inspection programme
* Oversee engineering feasibility studies for minor electrical projects
* Liaison with Small Projects, provide constructive feedback for scope development and critical/independent review of detailed design packages
* Communicate design expectations and site implementation standards to Projects teams; Share lessons learned with Projects and with regional/global ICE CoPs.
* Provide Operations input to Major Projects regarding electrical systems design
* Manage all deliverables from electrical engineering contractors and suppliers
* Provide input to hazard identification and risk assessments for proposed changes
* Lead or support incident investigations and RCFA involving electrical equipment.
* Ensure that relevant Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs), codes, standards, design guidelines and regulations relevant to electrical systems are correctly interpreted and applied
* Carry out gap assessments against ETPs and raise formal deviations where non- conformance is identified; Establish and implements action plans to close gaps
* Collaborate with specialists and engineers of all disciplines

    The Senior Project Engineer (Offshore Pipelines) will be a key member of the Pipelines PMT which is responsible for delivering the offshore pipeline systems in accordance with company's Q&HSE expectations. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing a high value pipe coating contract and execution of pipe coating scope at a number of coating facilities.

    General

    - Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations,

    - Provide exemplary leadership to the contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,

    - Provide coaching and development of direct reports,

    - Ensure the line-pipe coating contractor(s) has a competent organisation and a high standard of resources in-place to successfully execute the work,

    - Manage the contractor project execution performance and scope delivery,

    - Maintain awareness and promote conformance to GPO expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the construction team and the contractors,

    - Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change,

    - Track and manage technical risks, drive integrity and reliability through company processes such as TRAP's, constructability reviews, FMECA's,

    - Maintain close contact with the company Project Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to SD2 and implemented as appropriate,

    Management of Pipe Coating

    - Managing the company site teams at contractor facilities,

    - Integration with the M&SS team to ensure the development of a robust execution strategy,

    - Managing the contractors engineering and procedure development to assure timely delivery of approved procedures for coating start-up

    - Readiness planning & the co-ordination of pre-start assurance checklists prior to campaign execution.

    - Maintaining close contact with the engineering team to ensure timely approval of queries and approval of contractor documents,

    - Managing the coating works in accordance with company's Q&HSE expectations,

    - Managing the delivery schedule including daily management during execution,

    - Manage the delivery of the coated pipe in-country and facilities for load-in and load-out on to the pipe-lay contractor's vessels

    - Providing input to the M&SS integrated schedule and synergies across delivery groups,

    - Managing and tracking of contract costs including the assessment of contractor variations, invoices and deliverables,

    - Ensuring company project management and execution practices in place,

    Skills & Experience

    - Engineering degree or HND/HNC and vast project engineering experience.

    - Considerable proven capability of managing high value contracts

    - An awareness of line-pipe coating processes and application is an advantage but not essential

    - Exhibits understanding of company's MPcp engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality,

    - Act as the focal point for SD2 on DSV / worksite activities.

    - Ensure contractor awareness, comprehension and compliance with the AGT Diving Safety Management System (AZSPU-HSSE-DOC-00102-2)

    - Be knowledgeable of Worksite hazards, communications, local working practices, logistics and emergency procedures and keep contractor informed accordingly.

    - Ensure that emergencies, accidents, incidents and uncontrolled events are reported and investigated as appropriate. Act as SD2 focal point during any emergency. Complete all necessary reports.

    - Ensure that the Contractor is managing the work in accordance with the job planning and safety management system.

    - Lead company HSE initiatives, such as golden rule roll-outs, safety immersions, distribution and discussion on safety flashes and incident lessons learned

    - Be single point of contact for interfaces with other surrounding company operations / groups

    - Check welfare issues at site and make onshore management aware of issues

    - Provide operational input & advice during the development of work procedures

    - Adequate records and logs of events are maintained.

    - Reporting of job progress and operational issues to the relevant personnel on / offshore.

    - Assist with all logistical matters for personnel and cargo/freight by liaison with field personnel.

    - Within the company PTW system, facilitate the PTW between any Platform/Asset Area Authority and the Contractor Supervisor (Performing Authority) on the worksite.

    - Ensure compliance with the company GOC (Guidance on Certification) system for handover of completion certification at the appropriate stage gates. Ensure handover to commissioning is completed.

    - Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change.

    Skills & Experience

    The CVR must be assessed through a competence assessment process for the worksite and position as being competent in the following areas:

    - Must comply with UDP Document.

    - Must be in possession of either valid IMCA recognised surface supplied or closed bell certificates of competence relevant to the position of responsibility for the ping techniques being executed.

    - Must have successfully passed a recognised and company approved client representative's training course.

    - Must have attended formal risk assessment training.

    - Must have completed a company Permit to Work System (Performing Authority) course.

    - Must be fully familiar with the processes and requirements set out in the AzSPU SSoW - Diving and Subsea Operations.

    - Engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience.

    - Familiar with international recognised ping, marine & ROV regulations and subsea construction techniques.

    - Exhibits understanding of company practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality.

    - Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects.

    - Keen awareness of management of behavioural based site safety programmes

    - Understanding of all engineering disciplines, particularly in onshore terminals

    - Understand how to read relevant engineering drawings, specifications and codes

    - Ability to understand logic linked schedules (P3/P6 or similar) and add value to these schedules.

    - Ability to communicate effectively with contractor's/line managers/and supervision in English language (oral and written).

    - Knowledge and understanding of company management operating systems

    - Good IT skills, (understanding of MS office, etc)
