    Our client is a waste management company that provides services to customers to treat and dispose of low level radioactive waste; they oversee a national programme to ensure that lower activity waste is managed.

    A great opportunity has arisen for a bright, proactive inpidual to work as a Consignment & Container Technical Advisor within the Nuclear Industry.

    Your responsibilities will include;

    - Preparing and co-ordinating all non-fissile dangerous goods consignments arrangements for Site, ensuring these are in compliance with regulations and Site Licence conditions for the transport of dangerous goods.

    - Supporting the Site Dangerous Goods Transport Services for VLLW and LLW Site requirements, including international consignments.

    - Assisting with the preparation of the DGSA Annual Report for submission to MEHSC.

    - Supporting, when required, the consignment of ILW utilising Type B Fissile Packages.

    - Supporting the Consignment, Container and Transport Fleet Manager to process requests from the Logistics Service functions (Packaging Quality Team, Package Design Team, Transport Services Team, Package Services Team, Dangerous Goods Transport Team) to ensure Site Operations are able to deliver the WMS requirements.

    - Assisting with the interface between Site Operations for Sites re-usable container fleet to include annual/turnaround maintenance requirements, inspection, repair, site storage or clearance monitoring requirements.

    - Assisting with the Sites Type B container fleet to support PCM and National Customer requirements for the transportation of ILW to include coordination of Site resources against periodic maintenance and inspection requirements.

    - Supporting and coordinating the site dispatch of site owned IP-2/ IP-1 and Type B packages from the Repository Site to support Customer requests/requirements for VLLW, LA LLW and LLW to include the stakeholder management between RPA, SO, DGSA and Site Operations.

    - Assisting with the day to day duties associated with the management of the general transport fleet with regards to maintaining an operational fleet.

    The successful candidate will possess;

    - Consignment experience ideally with Radioactive training.

    - Knowledge of Model regulations (road).

    - Experience in the shipment of dangerous goods.
