Job Description

As the Welding Engineer you will be Involved in the research and development of new methodologies in pipeline welding applications, developing work scopes, supervise the execution of work, evaluating the welds, testing and reporting. You will provide expertise in the areas of GMAW, P-GMAW, FCAW and assist in the development of new products. Other tasks will include:

• Welding and consumable project definition

• Defining best welding methodology for tenders and projects

• Liaison with client welding engineers

• Management and coordination of welding qualification activities

• Liaison with external parties to perform mechanical testing of welds for procedure qualifications and consumable evaluation

• Provision of any guidance for project QA/QC personnel and method statements for on going work requirements

    Prepare and update the interface management system with all information required for coordinating the interface, including drawings, schematics, data, etc.

    Attend the interface coordination meetings

    Attend client meetings

    Review and comment on the EPC weekly and monthly reports

    Maintain dialogue & effective working relationship with other EPC's to ensure consistency in procedures and working practices across the whole project

    Candidates should have

    A degree in Civil Engineering

    5+ years civil engineering experience in the oil, gas or petrochemical industry - experience in mega projects an advantage.

    Previous experience in the capacity of an interface coordinator or manager.

    Previous experience working in the Middle East.

    Knowledge of Saudi Aramco projects an advantage.

    Xellient are currently representing a global Engineering, Management & Construction Company, currently working as an EPC contractor on Saudi Aramco's new Jazan Refinery will be a grassroots facility with an anticipated capacity of up to 400,000 barrels per day.

    The successful candidate will have, 7-10 years, hands on Experience in the Industrial Automation Industry, mainly in Honeywell design Experience DCS, ESD, MPS/PDP Hardware and have worked at a senior engineer level in at least two comparable size projects in the above role, with Middle East experience (Xpat).

    With a strong understanding of Saudi Aramco Standards & International Standards, key duties will include:

    - Provide relevant comments to MAC deliverables during PDR/ CDR/ FAT/ FAT Phases of the Project and ensure accurate implementation.

    - Design/commissioning and troubleshooting (foundation fieldbus technology)

    - Verify the selection of correct models of relays, power supplies, circuit breakers, terminals, isolators, cables, cable trays

    - Honeywell HMI Display Builder graphics cycle development

    - Design of safety instrumented systems

    - Usage of Process Control Philosophy, Logic Diagrams, Control Narratives, and Communication Protocols for e.g. Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, Serial RS- 485, RS-232 and HART, along with preferable experience with Primavera, AutoCAD or Micro station.

    - Working with PCS interfaces with Motor control center
