Job DescriptionDevelopment Geologist - Thailand - Expat position (6 month role)
Our client are on of the leading exploration and production companies in South East Asia, currently operating in over 40 individual projects across the globe.
They have a requirement for a Development Geologist to join their team. The individual will have 10 - 15 years relevant experience within petroleum geology, gained throughout SE Asia. It is essential that you have interpreted 2D and 3D seismic data.
You will have;
* studied seismic stratigraphic interpretation in waterflood areas;
* used software such as Petral and Charisma;
* have a good knowledge of log analysis and petrophysical evaluation,
* have attained a degree in geology.

The position is a high profile position in which the successful candidate will be assigned a segment of the portfolio activities and work on a wide range of projects such as regional and prospect exploration. Responsibilities *Provide technical support to our production and development assets along with the evaluation of New Venture opportunities. *Undertake geological studies including well log analysis and correlation, basin modelling, sequence stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and structural geology. *Integration of geological data from all scales on investigation, i.e. from thin sections, core, well logs, seismic and basin analysis/modelling. *Prospect evaluation including risk analysis and reserves estimations (deterministic and probabilistic). *Evaluation of exploration, development and production opportunities (farm-ins, data rooms and screening of opportunities etc.). *Well planning, operation support and post well analysis. *Management of own projects. *Technical peer reviews and supervision of contractors and consultants. Experience/Skills Required *Extensive upstream industry experience in Geology within an Oil & Gas Operator with a sound working knowledge of industry software packages such as Kingdom or Petrel. *Relevant Geoscience degree. *Diverse technical experience, including exploration, appraisal and development/production. *Able to cultivate an open culture, open-minded and willing to listen to suggestions and new ideas. *Ideally have some North Sea experience. *Basic working knowledge of HSE law as applied to office/business travel. *Working knowledge of HSE aspects of oil/gas operations.
