    Job Description

    - Reporting to the Supplier Quality Lead, The Supplier Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of Supplier Quality within the supply chain.

    - The SQE shall have a solid understanding of the supply chain business processes and have the ability to influence across the wide range of functional groups, both internal and external, to ensure business success.

    - This inpidual is the prime interface with suppliers on all quality matters.

    - To establish a robust and sustainable solution to quality problems in purchased products / services.

    - To identify, assess and manage potential supplier quality issues in order to pro actively minimise risks and prevent exposure to supplier induced quality issues.

    - The role requires flexibility, with visits to suppliers and other sites worldwide.

    - Investigation and timely resolution of supplier quality issues, driving root cause analysis through use of processes such as 8D and Taproot©.

    - Regular analysis of supplier performance, supporting the Supply Chain department in the generation of KPI scorecards.

    - Develop improvement plans to drive long term supplier performance improvement with the aim of mitigating product quality risk.

    - Generate and maintain Incoming Inspection Plans and Inspection Flags so that an appropriate level of inspection is undertaken at Goods Inwards Inspection, commensurate with supplier performance and product complexity/quality requirements.

    - Understand project and customer contract requirements and ensure necessary flow down to suppliers for compliance.

    - Understand supplier requirements for quality, ensuring that supply timely and accurate information through drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

    - Organise and facilitate Design for Manufacture programs between suppliers and engineering groups for key produucts.

    Qualifications

    - Engineering Degree or equivalent.

    - Formal training in the ISO 9001 Standard.

    - Lead Auditor.

    - Demonstrable relevant experience of working in a QA department, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry but not limited to (other industries background will be welcomed such as automotive, aerospace, etc.)

    - A recognised Quality Assurance or Quality Management qualification, would be a plus.

    This is a permanent position.

    - NDE technician qualification,

    Skills & Experience

    - BSc or graduate degree in Engineering or Physics,

    - Considerable experience as an ASNT Level III in UT, RT, PT, and MT,

    - Considerable experience as an ASNT Level II in ET (note: Level III in ET is strongly preferred),

    - Extensive experience in the oil & gas industry,

    - Extensive experience in ToFD,

    - Considerable experience in Phased Array UT,

    - Previous field inspection experience in ECT,

    - API QUTE certification,

    - Knowledge and experience in industry codes and standards such as ASME BPVC Sec V and VIII, B31.3, API 510, 570 and 653, 10) skills in writing and oral communication, and 11) skills in MS Excel, Word and PP.

    To ensure consistent application of IQS Procedure 1 by carrying out Inspection Design Assessments and guiding others to carry out the assessments. To audit the implementation of the Inspection Management System and to act as focal point for UKAS accreditation to ISA 17020.

    - Maintain and develop IQS Procedure 1 (Inspection Design Assessment) including the development of guidance material.

    - By coaching, develop and maintain knowledge of UK Inspection personnel with respect to Inspection Design Assessment, TIP evaluation and Final Inspection.

    - Ensure the consistent implementation and use of IQS Procedure 1 within UK inspection.

    - Liaise with Integrated Service Contractors to establish and maintain effective interfaces to enable timely design information transfer and learning cycles, i.e. the feedback look.

    - Set inspection requirements for projects and/or plant changes.

    - Carry out Inspection design assessments including the assessment of test and inspection plans (TIPs), also known as Quality Plans or Quality Assurance Plans.

    - Act as focal point for Design Assessment lateral learning between other Shell Group inspection departments.

    - Develop and maintain UK Inspection Audit Plan and participate in IQS audits, leading when required.

    - Update and maintain job descriptions and competence requirements for the Inspection staff.

    - Liaise with UKAS as UK accreditation Focal Point and ensure and maintain accreditation.

    - Inspection focal point for fabric maintenance.

    - Review of inspection reports and make recommendations.

    Skills & Experience

    - RG2/CAT 2 min

    - Degree Qualified

    - Significant experience in the inspection of pressure systems in the hydrocarbon production/refining industries and assessment of new designs.

    - Proven experience of management system audits

    - Knowledge of industry codes and relevant European and National legislation for pressure equipment and systems

    - Skill in relevant DEP's, material specifications, piping standards, selection and calculation of safety relief valves (API 520), instrumental safeguarding systems and safeguarding studies

    - Knowledge of the principles and application of RBI

    - Knowledge of materials behaviour, damage mechanisms, stress analysis and NDT

    This is a permanent position.
