Key tasks and Responsibilities

The Senior Designer - Pipe support has the following responsibilities and key tasks:

* Prepare the Pipe Support design basis for the project
* Independently design, calculate and make Pipe Supports drawings
* Ensure that design, drawings and other technical documentation are in accordance with relevant procedures, specifications and standards
* Checking of design drawings
* Ensure all work within his/her responsibility is completed in accordance with the accepted project plan
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualification requirements

Education

* Technical School of Drawing/Design or Diploma in Mechanical Engineer

Experience

* Minimum 5 years of working experience

Skills

* Proficient in relevant company Applications & Programs.
* Fluent in oral and written English language.

    Job Description

    Based in Stavanger, our client is looking for a Drilling Cost Controller for a temporary contract position lasting approximately 18 months.

    The Drilling Cost Controller is responsible for the accounting and reporting of company's operated drilling activity within Norway. Along with the maintenance of the joint venture inventory accounting records and the reporting of daily drilling costs to internal management and our Joint Venture (JV) Partners, the position involves a close working relationship with the Drilling team, Joint Venture Accountant and Accounts Payable Analyst within the finance team in respect to verification and payment of invoices related to drilling as well as involvement with all aspects of Joint Venture Accounting.

    - Manages month-end well accruals, which are calculated and posted onto SAP Checks and maintains daily drilling forecasts Reviews variance analysis against budget/previous forecasts

    - Seen as the first point of contact for all Norway-operated drilling accounting requests

    - Oversees the production of drilling costs for the Drilling and Norway management team

    - Verifies invoices, which includes coding, contract compliance, checking against commitment, budget levels

    - Provides operational supervision to Accounts Payable Analyst for resolving complex dispute invoices, by close interaction with drilling team and vendors

    - Organizes and participates in regular Inventory/stock checks at all locations where stock is held (including third party storage)

    - Presents Norway-operated drilling accounting status to internal management and partners

    - Supports the Finance Manager in managing finance related matters emerging on interfaces between company (drilling and asset teams) and drilling rig consortium members, vendors and JV partners

    Skills & Experience

    - University Degree is preferred

    - In-depth knowledge of drilling accounting, with considerable relevant experience

    - Experience within SAP JV and Financial Accounting (FI) modules

    - Good understanding of drilling equipment and processes

    - Solid forecasting and arithmetic skills

    - Knowledge/understanding of stock, inventory control and management

    - Understanding JV accounting

    This is a contract position.

    The rate for this position is negotiable.

    Our client is looking for candidates with a breadth and depth of applicable knowledge and experience.
    Relevant candidates will have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering or Geoscience and 3-5 years of experience in drilling operations, such as mud logging, MWD, drilling optimisation or other related well engineering domains. Our client will provide the necessary further training in their software products.

    Essential:
    • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Drilling, Well Engineering, Geology, Physics, etc)
    • Excellent written and oral English skills
    • Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotation scheme and occasionally work abroad.

    Job Description

    In this role, you will apply your domain knowledge of onshore and offshore drilling practices to prepare and deploy our Drilling modeling applications technology. You will also use your experience in data transfer systems. While working in an office environment you will support their clients remotely, using their software solutions and make recommendations for optimal well drilling.
    As a Drilling Engineer / Analyst, you will provide early warnings to the client to help prevent or eliminate drilling problems such as formations of fluid influx, drilling fluid loss, well-bore instability, pack off, and stuck pipe, ultimately improving performance of the drilling process. 
    You will also be required to prepare and present project results, while providing support for the client’s real-time drilling operations.
    Scheduled work rotation and international travel are requirements of the job.
