Job Description


• Supervising and participating in the offshore installation/maintenance of controls equipment.

• Whilst on shore, supporting the workshop activity of the Aberdeen controls group, tasks will include maintaining, servicing, preparing and shipping controls equipment

• Adhering to company policy and procedures, using risk mitigation tools to ensure all tasks are carried out safely and effectively.

• Familiarising yourself before departure, as far as practically possible, with applicable procedures and work instructions for field service work.

• Maintaining a full traceable report of field service work, and reporting same as instructed.

• Reporting of any issues/ideas for improvement to supervisor in a timely manner.

• Liaising with supervisor to ensure a pro-active and productive approach to workshop activity.

    Overall Purpose of the Job:

    - The job holder is required to assist in the maintenance and certification of Well Test related equipment in accordance with quality management systems.

    - To be an active presence on the workshop/yard floor to monitor process and equipment quality and monitor workshop person's compliance with HSE/Quality/Maintenance procedures.

    - To liaise directly with the Workshop Supervisor / Manager for support on engineering / technical issues.

    - To assist with maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping and orderliness in the workshop / yard.


    Principal Accountabilities:

    - To liaise with the Workshop Supervisor on a daily basis for information on workshop / project plan activities to meet operational, project and engineering delivery schedules.

    Qualifications & Training
    Essential
    A minimum of an HNC Measurement / Control or Electrical Engineering.
    VQ Level 3 in Instrument Maintenance
    Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training

    Preferred
    (BOSIET) and Health certification for offshore working is required
    Operating or Project experience, either onshore or offshore, in the role of Instrument, Electrical or Mechanical Technician.
    Ability to work extended periods of time offshore on a production platform.
    Good understanding of safety management for offshore operations and have demonstrated personal commitment to Safety.
    Proven track record of performing within a multi- disciplined team.

    Experience & Knowledge
    Essential
    Practical knowledge and experience of offshore production, process and utilities systems and operations
    Proven ability to meet the requirements of the platform Competency Assessment Programme
    Good understanding of industry HSE practices applicable to the job role

    Preferred
    Experience of working in the UK offshore industry
    Experience of working in brownfield operations
