Leap29 is currently inviting an interested from Mud Logging Specialist with educational background in Geology and solid experience in mud logging for a great job opportunity in Papua New Guinea. Our client is the leading service provider in mud logging and data engineering in the industry and they are currently looking for proactive and skilled Mud Loggers for an exciting new opening in Papua New Guinea. A successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
*Assist in the acquisition of well data
*Collecting and examine the cuttings samples
*Log the rock types from the drilled cuttings
*Monitor well parameters
*Maintain the sensors and gas equipment in good condition

*Qualified in Geology (Bachelor or Master Degree)

• Perform geophysical interpretation on seismic data, inversion data, or pre and post-stack attribute data, as necessary. • Build and refine earth models from a combination of well, seismic, geological, data types as required. • Provide input for enhanced processing of seismic datasets and QI projects with a strong emphasis on rock physics modelling, AVO and Inversion. • Ensure that quality control standards are met for processing, modelling and reporting activities. • Evaluation of exploration, development and production opportunities (farm-ins, datarooms and screening of opportunities etc.). • Well planning, operation support and post well analysis. • Preparation and conduct of technical presentations to management, JV partners, regulatory bodies and other parties for operated and non-operated licenses and study groups and provision of geological input as required. • Work closely with Geologists and Reservoir Engineers in order to provide fully integrated subsurface technical view. Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams. • Manage your own projects, including time deadlines and resources - you will be responsible for managing multiple (concurrent) projects. • Documentation and presentation of results of technical work. • Strong participation in technical peer reviews and other technical meetings. • Supervision of geotechnical contractors and consultants. • It is likely that the Senior Geophysicist will take a lead role in many of these activities/projects and/or supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other team members. • Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and applies leading technologies and technical best practice to maximise technical performance.
