Job Description

My client is a leading Oil and Gas company who are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to be based in Dubai to oversee the development and co-ordination of this exciting project.

Our client are looking for a candidate familiar with the design, construction and commissioning phases of new offshore production platforms.

The Projects Department will be responsible for all capital expenditure projects in the region and is looking to expand its internal resources with people of a sound technical and commercial background from an International Oil and Gas environment with a preference for candidates already having experience with an Operator company.

Principal Functions and Responsibilities:
*To properly define and safely deliver cost effective solutions to this Production Platform / Pipeline / Annexed Complex Project.
*Will be assigned important, specific responsibilities and tasks within various projects at different stages of their execution.
*To continually evaluate for cost effectiveness and to provide value to the project stakeholders.
*Assist in the setting up, co-ordination and development of professional engineering and project management systems within the organization.
*To promote teamwork, harmony and a professional attitude to project development and execution throughout the organization.
*To instill by example a safe working environment at every level.

Qualifications:
Degree or similar qualification in process or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:
*Experience in handling topside offshore and subsea projects with values significantly in excess of USD$100m
*At least 20 years experience within Oil and Gas operations or a major engineering company.
*At least 5 years experience in a project management position.
*Middle East experience desirable
*Experience with topside and subsea projects
*Experience not just on the engineering side but on the practical design, construction and operational aspects is also essential.
*Must have the knowledge and ability to write professional reports, understand the contracting processes, bid preparation and evaluation.

    Skills & Experience

    - Primary degree in technical discipline with experience minimum including technical management experience

    - Technically strong and a Proven technical deliverer in facilities area in topsides and preferably also subsea.

    - Comfortable with management of change processes

    - Comfortable with management of multiple projects and workfronts simultaneously in a busy operational environment.

    - Technical background with some line management experience;

    - Experience with major international contractor community and methods of working;

    - Working experience in Petroleum Joint Venture environments, familiarity with JOAs, PSA and other Petroleum agreements and business systems.

    - Familiar with large asset operations/logistics;

    - Good commercial and finance skills and awareness;

    - International experience preferred and preferred offshore/deepwater.

    - Good mediating skills and coaching and mentoring experience.

    - Strong in projects controls and governance application - with an approach which is about "right sizing" to the safety-risk, complexity and business impact.
