Job Description

  • HND/ HNC / ONC / OND or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline and considerable field experience plus reasonable training experience.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Oil/Gas process & systems.
  • A good knowledge of relevant E&P operations, procedures and practices.
  • Self-motivated and is required to have strong leadership skills.
  • Should be fully knowlegeable of HSE and process safety requirements.
  • Fully computer literate, valid driving license, good communicator and organizer.
  • Good team player.
  • Training and Development skills (Train the Trainer Course)
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Good oral and written Technical English capability.

Skills & Experience

  • To effectively implement the Operations Training and Development in line with company policy and Area team development needs.
  • Asset related: Ensure all Training Resources - People, Facilities, Equipment, and Material are adequate & available when required
  • Business Processes related: To ensure the successful gap filling of Competence Development & Assurance needs.
  • To agree Key Performance Indicators & Strategy with Operations Readiness Team Leader Identify HSE Critical Roles and include in Operations Job Competency Profiles.

  • Identify all potential risks to the success of the Training Plan, develop and implement effective mitigation plans
  • Discipline Activities: Ensure the most appropriate Learning Interventions are adopted and quality of all training meets the Projects requirements Develop and Implement Learning Interventions to close Identified Competency Gaps Co-ordinate and communicate with EPC, Vendors, and other specialist contractors on all matters related to Company staff training and development.
  • HSE related: Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide the trainees on safe working practices. Proactively contribute to all HSE aspects in compliance with directorate HSE plan
  • Accountable for ensuring implementation and adherence to the requirements of the HSE Management System.
  • Ensure HSE and PTW systems are followed before starting a job, ensure proper use of tools and PPE, conduct regular site visits, advice co-workers on potential hazards, check safety equipment, notify management of unsafe working conditions, report HSE incidents, actively participate in HSE meetings.
  • Ensure that HEMP requirement is understood by all trainees and line staff.
  • Familiarize with the latest design methods and techniques e.g. SIL, HAZOP Design review is essential.
  • Process safety related: Ensure Critical Tasks related to Asset Integrity-Process Safety Management (AI-PSM) are undertaken and executed.
  • Challenges: Deployment of new technology based on the new projects within the area (e.g. EOR).

    - The Area Construction Manager (ISBL & Utilities) is accountable to the Central Processing Facilities (CPF) Site Construction Manager and will be responsible for the following functions:

    - On rotation at site on a 5 week on / 3 week off basis, has responsibility for the oversight and assurance of all ISBL and Utilities construction works activities including, but not limited to the following:

    - Providing oversight and assurance that the EPC Contractor is delivering the field work in a safe and effective manner in their designated area, to ensure that Project schedule and Project specifications are met and that work is completed safely and according to time and budget parameters.

    - To provide contractor performance management and ensure contract compliance.

    - Implementing the Construction Execution Plan (CEP) and monitoring the progress with respect to time, budget and quality.

    - Safety Leadership.

    - Acting as a role model to promote the highest standards in HSSE culture in the project community.

    - Ensuring compliance with the safety assurance plan so that work is accomplished in an environmentally sound manner using safe work practices.

    - Monitoring construction work progress and ensuring adherence to contract requirements, permit procedures and statutory requirements.

    - Liaising with other Area Construction Managers and Superintendents regarding possible construction interface issues within the battery limits and cooperate to resolve such matters.

    - Integrating with other company disciplines, HSSE, Quality, Engineering and Project Services.

    - Ensuring scope and specification accountability of contractors and their daily performance by:

    - Ensure work is performed per plans and specifications via coordination with the Quality Assurance (QA) group.

    - Ensuring all regulatory and statutory requirements regarding administration, testing and record keeping are met and that reporting progress is accurate and in the required format

    - Participating in Knowledge Management (Lessons Learnt).

    - Have experience on large onshore plant projects and strong working knowledge of construction planning, construction methodology, productivity analysis, quality assurance and HSSE procedures.

    - Ensure management of change (MOC) requirements regarding field design modifications and scope changes are met by forwarding appropriate documentation for processing.

    - Have knowledge and be familiar with Construction methods, Codes and regulations, Safety rules and construction techniques.

    - Ensure Mechanical Completion (MC) system boundaries are defined and MC handover sequence agreed.

    - Have work experience in extreme heat and remote site conditions.

    - Have work experience in international, multicultural projects.

    - All other duties and tasks as required by the CPF Site Manager.

    Skills and Experience

    - BS in Mechanical Engineering or BS in Civil Engineering with mechanical background.
