IRS are currently recruiting on behalf of our client 20 Pipefitters for an exciting long term shutdown maintenance project throughout various platforms until the end of 2013, mobilising out of Aberdeen.

If you are an experienced pipefitter with numerous offshore trips under your belt then this is the opportunity for you.

Candidates are required to mobilise 4th August 2013

Skills and Experience

  • At least 1 years’ experience working on offshore platforms is essential.
  • Previous Shutdown maintenance experience is desired.

The young and dynamic team is operating mainly in the UK and Republic of Ireland and we have a specialised section devoted to welding and brazing. The demand on this service is growing and is expected to increase further with new nuclear build projects and the implementation of welding quality standards. Hence, we need to increase our team of technical experts in this discipline. Responsibilities: * Managing an own client base as well as extending the companies welding services and activities * The prime responsibility is to have a pro-active approach to our customers welding and brazing problems in a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The ability to determine and/or advise on appropriate solutions within the framework of recognised standards or specifications is essential. * The engineer shall undertake welding / brazing projects and/or invigilation at works or on-site to meet client requirements and (subject to status) be able to raise the appropriate certification. * The engineer shall maintain and service our existing client base and also sell our services to new clients, via technical sales visits, provision of quotes or technical presentations Skills: * Evidence to demonstrate they can undertake the stated responsibilities. * An academic or vocational qualification in welding or a welding related subject. Alternatively, a minimum of 7 years work experience in a supervisory capacity in the welding industry will be considered * An in depth knowledge of welding standards, welding processes, welding techniques and their requirements. * Experience and/or a qualification in NDT and Mechanical Testing (codes and methods), Product Manufacturing, Materials (Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium etc), Metallurgy, Quality Assurance (Welded Products) and Inspection Codes. * Excellent management, communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to converse at all levels with clients, consultants, assessors, management and staff. * Be a self-motivated inpidual with a customer and solution oriented personality and have unquestionable and precise work ethic. * Capability to market the companies welding services in a highly competitive market. * Be proficient in Microsoft office. * Audit experience ISO9001, ISO3834 and ISO1090 is advantageous. * Eligible to work in the UK, with a clean driving licence and the facility to work from home.
