Job Description

Support the development and continuously improvement of the HSE regulations and procedures.
Identify gaps in current organizational procedures, tools towards best practice for HSE.
Prepare HSE awareness training materials and conducts respective trainings.
Co-ordinate the reporting on HSE performance of the company’s HQ and affiliates
Co-ordinate the implementation of project documentation - Project Risk Register, HSE Plan and Delivery Schedule, country HSE guidance documentations, etc
Getting acquainted with and raising awareness of best practices throughout the Company Group.
Monitor the implementation of the Project HSE audit schedule and lead internal and external audits on request.
Assist subcontractors and third parties in compliance to the HSE
Undertake worksite inspections (incl. third party worksites) and provide feedback on observations.
Co-ordinate and support implementation of legal compliance regarding HSE both in HQ and affiliates
Monitor and where necessary lead incident investigations.
Represent HSE department in HAZOP and HAZID workshops.
Collect overview of legal requirements regarding HSE in EU and further project countries.
Active participation in personal safety and health programs.

    Job Description

    Providing support to Operations Department in monitoring and coaching personnel in safety and well-being (Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene) of the Iraq region, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of the supporting HSE processes and systems including application at contractor/sub-contractor sites.

    Responsible for the development and management of HSE Standards that the organisation will design, build and implement. The Standards will be designed in accordance with regulations and Best International Petroleum Industry Practice.

    The HSE Advisor reports to the HSE Team Lead. He/she will work closely with the Operations Dept. to ensure Health & Safety issues are being addressed and managed appropriately. Responsible for proactively identifying risks, and providing risk management solutions.

    - Contractor Oversight; Monitor the effectiveness Safety program implementation in Contractor worksites. Also provide ROO Leadership feedback and support in assurance that contractors are delivering all HSE requirements.

    - Operations HSE Standards; Manage fit for purpose HSE Standards and processes for Operations. Coach leadership in driving safe & healthy operations. Participate in assigned investigations to determine immediate causes, system causes and corrective actions. Close-out personally assigned actions on time. Proactively look for unidentified risks, in addition to addressing more obvious risk areas.

    - Compliance with Laws and Regulations; research and understand Iraqi laws and regulations and determine whether Operations are in compliance. Perform Health and Safety assessments to assure compliance and drive risk reduction & performance improvement.

    - Staff Development; training and development of ROO Health & Safety staff and, where necessary, contractor Health & Safety staff.

    Skills & Experience

    - BSc in Engineering or HSE-related degree with strong execution delivery and interpersonal skills demonstrated in leadership and influencing in these areas.

    - Extensive industry experience in a variety of roles that demonstrate skills progression leading to senior Engineering roles.

    - Experience in Operations and Leadership at a senior is essential.

    - Good presentation and persuasion skills with effective communication skills demonstrated internally and externally. Proven staff coaching and development skills.

    This is a contract position.
