Reviewed and enhanced policies regarding corrosion inhibitor and biocide selection and use, developed inhibitor selection criteria, implemented oversaw and reviewed competitive inhibitor selection field trialling which resulted in loss for the incumbent supplier, significant improvements in corrosion control. Demonstrably reduced the number of leaks and increased the % of pipelines and facilities protected through inhibitor and cathodic protection all accompanied by an overall reduction in cost. Additional highlights included design of CP systems for stations at Marmul and Fahud which had stood without protection for many years. In Marmul a novel method of current control, adding resistance to each protected structure, was adopted to ensure adequate current distribution - these tasks formed part of my approach to mentoring Omani engineers who became responsible for the status of the stations and were encouraged to develop solutions to the technical problems encountered and to prepare and carry through all aspects of the required corrective actions including eg. Contract SOW preparation and management. Direct annual budget totalled $7M
